How did u manage your time so well for your cooking, yoga and writing blogs? Thanks.

  2. Hi Amelia! Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for the sweetest compliments! I used to watch a lot of TV, but since I’ve moved to Canada, I had decided to spend my time more wisely and be more fruitful and do things that satisfy my soul, hence the cooking, yoga, and writing๐Ÿ™‚ My hb on the other hand, is still pretty addicted to TV but he watches a lot of sports, which I don’t quite fancy. He’ll be going back to Uni in January, so that means I don’t have to nag him to turn down the TV anymore (I hope!!)๐Ÿ˜›

  12. Hi Christine,

I am a Malaysian too in NJ, I can see that you are a vegetarian, and I also cook alot of vegetarian food!

Welcome to visit my site sometimes!

    Echo

  13. Chris –

Thanks a mill for having this website available. (I’m a huge Asian foodie, per my website – always looking for more exotic stuff.) Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it), I’ve also now been vegan for two years. So as a rabid lover of rojak, I need to know: where oh where can I buy vegetarian belacan?

I’m a New Yorker, and believe it or not have failed to find anything in our Chinatowns. So any info would be great. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks of course…and best wishes to you and yours!!

  14. Hi! I’m Ms Ivy from Klang, Selangor. I’m going to wedding soon but we suggest to having dinner in vege restaurants. We do not know which place we can find for “Herbal with vege” restaurants. Could you please help us urgently?
    Thank you.

  15. Hi! Saw your great cake pics from Wilton classes. Just wondering if you know where I can learn them in Toronto?? Please let me know.

    Thank youuuuu!

  16. I spent a lot of time working in Malaysia (Senai/JB) and have quite a few Malaysian friends still. How do you like living in Canada?

  17. Oh , I used to travel to Detroit a lot ( for business trip) and you know since Windsor is so near, I actually went there for better Chinese food. How do you like Windsor?Normally I just went there for food๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Christine,

I’m a civilian Protocol Officer working for the US Army. My agency is in Warren, Michigan.
One of my many duties is coordinating and executing a vast number of retirement and promotion ceremonies. For the past 15 years, I’ve been purchasing most of my cakes from a wonderful woman named Anita who bakes and decorates cakes as a side business; she makes a wonderful French Buttercream. However, last week she informed me that she may have to give up the baking & decorating, because the company that she has been obtaining her “white margarine” from is going out of business (Unilever…..). She purchased a few cases, but when it’s gone — I’m dreading that she will fold up shop! She’s tried a few other brands of white margarine, but doesn’t like the mouthfeel; says they’re too greasy. Might I ask what brand you use or your source? Please let me know, I’m desparate for her to remain in business. Any information you can furnish will be most appreciated. Thank you.

  19. hello, i read your post Vegetarian Restaurants in KL from August 14, 2007. i really do like the pic from the Hare Krsna restaurant with the Indian food on a thali. would it be ok if i used that pic on my blog as part of the banner and on a business card that i am designing? i would be happy to give proper credit on my blog and linking back to your blog. if that is ok, please email me the original photo. hoping for a positive response…๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Hi, I found your site whilst looking for a pineapple jam tarts recipe. Love your recipes. Thanks for sharing. Nice to find another fellow Msia blogging about food.

  21. Hi Christine, found you through an article in Windsor Star about the cooking club! Very interesting, lots of good recipes, i also love to cook and live in Lasalle! Your cooking club sounds like fun, have already got 3 people interested and hope to get 2-3 more, so i am pretty excited! It is a nice way to get together with friends and learn different recipes. Thankyou for sharing and i wish you luck in your endeavours at the U. My daughter is doing her last semester for Master in Social Work and my son just graduated in June with a degree in Business and Marketing! Good luck to you!

  22. Hi Chris, this blog as been severely neglected since I moved to Toronto. My hb and I lost our jobs in Detroit/Windsor and had to move. I do plan on writing more on this blog and also starting my own cooking club when I have my own place (currently living with inlaws). I also just had a baby, so I have quite a bit to deal with lately. Meanwhile, I keep a baby blog at http://mommirazzi.wordpress.com. Thanks and take care!

  23. Yay, another Malaysian in Canada. Woo-Hoooo!:P

  24. Hi Christine,

My name is Sashi.I am originally from the Fiji Islands now living in Richmond BC.You have a awesome website and love the stuff you have on there. I love food and have always wanted to pursue something in that field.

I have just launched my own website and would love to get some tips from you .I would love to know how I can link up with other websites and put my site on them and yours if you wish.

I would love some feed backs . Thanks in advance,

    Sashi for juuluumfood.com

  25. Yes…Yes you are one lucky woman. I too am teaching cake decorating and can’t afford a mixer. I too am out of work but I share my gift with the women of my church and those in the community. Do you know of anyone else that may have a mixer in their garage……Ha!Ha!

    Good Luck!

  26. Hi!
I am happy to have found your blog–as I now have a great resource for learning Malaysian cooking. I have gone over there to visit relatives a few time and always spend time in the kitchen with my aunties, but I don’t speak Malay and struggle to translate the ingredients. Anyhow…
I am currently working for a film company in Vancouver and helping to produce a show for the Food Network. I’m trying to recruit people who love to cook–and their families–to come on our show. See the news link below.
Please get in touch with me I would love to discuss both of these things more.
    Thanks and good luck!

  27. Thanks for the list of vegetarian places in Malaysia – looking forward to trying them out on my next visit. Congratulations also on a great blog, hope you will start updating it once again!
